Air quality permits issued by the District are designed to reduce air pollution and to help achieve and maintain federal and state air quality health standards. The District issues a variety of air quality permits to businesses and/or facilities that are renewed by paying the annual renewal fee(s).
Air quality permits are required by law prior to installing new equipment or processes that may release or control the release of air pollutants, before modifying existing equipment, when a facility wishes to modify a permit condition or facility emissions, or when a change in the method of operation at a facility occurs.
North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District
has a policy of providing an accessible website compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and
commercial screen reading software. All features of the website are coded to allow individuals with vision and
